So when we saw this spring that the Broadway version of Mary Poppins was coming to Cleveland, we just had to take her. We got her the tickets for her birthday, so she had to wait 7 LONG weeks to see the show. And she's been getting more and more excited the closer it got. This week, she was jumping around pretty much every time she saw a commercial. She and Gramma spent the week getting clothes ready for her & her dolls (yes, they came too).
It was girls day out, so it was just Sam, my mom & I. As we walked in, we got lots of compliments on our "little Mary Poppins." We had great seats in the first balcony - a group of just 3 seats near the middle of the stage. Sam could hardly sit still until the show started. And then once it started she was so mesmerized she hardly moved.
The play's story is a bit different, and during the middle, she told my mom "they're doing it backwards." A lot of the songs are also different, but are very good. My personal favorites were Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious & Steppin Time. Sam liked that they wore tap shoes for Steppin Time. But the highlight of the show was probably when Mary Poppins flew out over the audience & ended her trip right in front of our seats. Sam was waving frantically at her - it was SO cute!
After the show we met up with the boys for hibachi - yum! Both the kids once again ate so incredibly well there!
Here are a few pictures from our very fun day. :)
